Sharjeel Farooqui

As Vice President and Head of Debt Capital Markets, Canada, Sharjeel Farooqui serves on Pure’s leadership team and is responsible for Pure’s debt capital and financing strategy across its Canadian portfolio, including loan originations, securitizations, corporate credit facilities, liquidity management, balance sheet optimization, and lender relationship management.

Sharjeel brings more than fifteen years of professional experience across corporate credit, structured finance, and real assets financing. Since joining Pure, he has led over $5 billion of debt originations, including $2.8 billion of SASB floating-rate CMBS across four offerings — establishing Pure Industrial as the first and only issuer of SASB CMBS in Canada. Prior to Pure, Sharjeel spent nearly a decade at RBC Capital Markets in Wholesale Corporate Credit, where he adjudicated and structured complex commercial real estate transactions for REITs, institutional fund managers, and private equity sponsors across Canada and the U.S. His earlier experience includes roles with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Manulife Financial.

Sharjeel holds a Master of Business Administration with a dual major in Finance and Strategic Business Valuation from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, and an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
