Lakeridge Logistics Centre achieves LEED Gold certification
Pure Industrial is proud to announce that Lakeridge Logistics Centre has received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED® v4 Building Design and Construction: Core and Shell Development Gold certification. With 740 000 remaining available for lease, Lakeridge Logistics Centre offers customers an opportunity to operate from a high-performing industrial facility designed with sustainability, efficiency and long-term operational needs in mind.
LEED v4 Core and Shell Gold certification recognizes that Lakeridge’s base building design and construction meet a high standard for sustainability, from energy and water efficiency to materials, indoor environmental quality, and site design. The Core and Shell designation applies to the building’s base elements, including the structure, envelope, core systems, and site-related design strategies. In Canada, LEED is administered by the Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC).
“Earning LEED Gold certification recognizes projects that demonstrate strong performance across key areas of sustainable design and construction,” said Thomas Mueller, CAGBC President and CEO. “Paired with a previous Zero Carbon Building – Design certification, Lakeridge Logistics Centre’s achievement reflects the important role that high-performing industrial buildings can play in advancing low-carbon, resilient real estate that support tenant needs.”
Located in Ajax, Ontario, Lakeridge Logistics Centre is a state-of-the-art industrial facility designed to support the evolving needs of modern logistics and distribution customers. The LEED Gold certification marks another important sustainability achievement for the facility, following the previously announced Zero Carbon Building – Design certification, and further strengthens its position as a leading sustainable industrial property.
“As sustainability, efficiency, and long-term building performance become increasingly important to customers and partners, this certification further strengthens how we demonstrate Pure Industrial’s commitment to ESG, operational excellence, and high-quality customer environments,” said Andrée Lemay-Roux, Vice President, Legal Affairs and ESG, Pure Industrial. “It is another example of how we are aligning our portfolio with the priorities that are shaping customer decision-making across the market.”
The certification further highlights how sustainable design can support the operational needs of modern logistics and distribution customers.
“Achieving LEED Gold certification reflects the strength of the sustainability measures embedded into Lakeridge’s base building design,” said Lori Hipwell, Director, Energy and Sustainability, Pure Industrial. “For customers, it means access to an efficient, resilient and high-performing logistics environment designed to support long-term operational needs.”
As customer expectations continue to evolve, third-party certifications such as LEED play an important role in validating sustainable design and construction. This recognition reflects Pure Industrial’s continued focus on integrating sustainability into the development of high-performing industrial spaces across its portfolio.
